Homework: Re-read the "First Marking Period" of Speak. As you re-read take active reading notes. You do not have to make any predictions but must stop after each section and complete a reviewing note. An example post it note and journal entry is in the link below. Remember to look up any unfamiliar words and add them to your notes as well.
Active Reading Notes Steps
1. Re-read the assigned section.
2. Stop anytime in the text when you have a question, judgment, or connection.
3. Place a post it note at that point in the text.
4. Number the note on the post it and identify the note type.
5. In your notes journal explain in detail your note (i.e. what is your question, connection, or judgment).
6. Remember to stop at the end of each section and complete a reviewing note.
