English I Honors Reminders & Assignments- Snow Week February 16- 20, 2015

Homework / Reminders:

1.       In an effort to keep us from getting too far behind in our curriculum I am assigning a few readings over the snow days. If you do not have a copy of the book at home remember the book is available, for free, online and a link was posted on my webpage January 21, 2015.

a.       Read The Quest of The Golden Fleece and Perseus.

b.      Complete active reading notes for each story. Complete these in your notes journal and label the story.

                                                               i.      You must have the following notes for EACH story!!!

1.       ONE – Review – this should be a thorough summary of they myth. Use study guide questions as a guide for highlighting major parts of the story.

2.       TWO – Connections – they don’t have to be personal connections

3.       ONE – Question – that you must answer once you have finished reading the story.

4.       TWO – NT- KW – that are defined. Remember these can be words that are unfamiliar or words that are key to this story.

5.       TWO – Predictions – you must indicate the page number where you stopped before making each prediction.

6.       TWO – Evaluations  

2.       Links to study guide questions for the readings are available below.  Remember I am not collecting the study guide questions as a separate assignment however, you are expected to use them to help prepare for upcoming assessments and to help develop your review notes.

3.       Make sure your original myth and birth stories are posted on turnitin.com. I have extended the deadline to 11:59 pm Saturday, February 21, 2015. You can only submit one document. So look on my original post for this assignment to see how this should be set up.

4.       Membean time has not stopped. Make sure you are completing your required training time and days for each week. Your next quiz is scheduled for Tuesday, February 24, 2015.
