English I Honors - Week of September 8-12, 2014 -Crossing Borders Week

The only homework students have during the week is to prepare for their upcoming assessment. Over the weekend students will be expected to finish their Call to Action Assignment. Please make sure you have purchased Membean. We will start learning words Monday, September 15, 2014.

If there is a note to " see me " on GradeSpeed Please see me during lunch Thursday, September 11, 2014.

Monday, September 8, 2014 - Assembly Reflection Activity . Vandy students please see me first thing in the morning to get a pass to see a speaker during your study hall. You can complete the reflection assignment for that speaker.

Assembly Reflection Questions
1.) Explain in detail at least five things you learned from the speakers.
2.) What do you know about current immigration policies?What aspects do you agree with? What aspects do you disagree with?
3.) What significant things were said during the assembly to  support your beliefs on immigration?
4.) What additional questions do you have about immigration policy?
5.) What is going to be the focus of your call to action?

Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - All classes will meet in the auditorium.

Wednesday, September 10, 2014 - Crossing Borders Stations. Report to class to get your "travel ticket".

Thursday, September 11, 2014 -  Lecture on how to organize your writing. Review of Call to Action assignment expectations.

Friday, September 12, 2014 -  Call to action in class work day. Homework: Finish the Call to Action Assignment.

The Enrique's Journey Summative Assessment will be administered Tuesday, September 16, 2014
